Intergenerational Fun in Fullerton: A Community Event Highlighting Connection and Friendly Competition

This Friday, August 15, from 9 am to 12 pm, the Fullerton Community Center will host a heartwarming intergenerational event, as Meals on Wheels Orange County teams up with Mattel to foster community connections. The gathering, taking place at 340 W. Commonwealth Ave., will bring together seniors and children from local after-school programs for a lively afternoon filled with play and friendly competition.

Participants will engage in activities featuring beloved brands like Hot Wheels and Barbie, alongside tabletop games and a spirited UNO tournament. Lunch will be provided, transforming the center into a vibrant, age-inclusive space designed to encourage conversation and interaction across generations.

This initiative is part of Meals on Wheels Orange County’s expanding focus on the wellness of both seniors and youth. The organization, which serves over 7,600 older adults annually, is also enhancing food quality and service at after-school programs through its collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County’s Kids Café. This event exemplifies how Meals on Wheels is broadening its mission beyond meal delivery to create a healthier and more connected community.

Community members are encouraged to attend and contribute to this unique celebration of togetherness and fun.
