According to the protest organizers approximately 3,500 demonstrators gathered at the intersection of Imperial and Beach Boulevard on Saturday to voice their concerns over what they described as severe overreach by the current administration. The local protest was part of a larger wave of demonstrations that swept across Orange County and the country, as millions took to the streets to assert a fundamental tenet of American democracy: there are no kings.
From bustling cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Houston, Nashville and more to small towns in between, citizens from diverse backgrounds united to share one powerful message—democracy belongs to the people, not to any one individual. The residents of Orange County are determined to maintain their rights and freedoms while advocating for those who feel threatened by federal actions and policies associated with the Trump/Vance administration.
Protests erupted across Orange County, with thousands of demonstrators taking to the streets in Orange, Irvine, and Santa Ana. The gatherings drew significant crowds in each city as participants voiced their concerns and called for change.
“We need a country that values its people, workers, environment, and taxpayer-funded agencies,” said one protester, reflecting the sentiments of many present.
“We are here to support Prop 50 and oppose authoritarianism,” stated another protester, highlighting a collective call for change.

I can’t believe Trump and crew are trying to make people believe that the demonstrators hate America and that they are paid actors and terrorists. There were locals there of every age and constant honks of agreement and peace signs from people driving by in cars. I hope the message gets through – we are not going to agree to dictatorship and loss of freedom.
Because they cause chaos, they burn, loot, and are violent in there protests. If the were peaceful, this would not be a conversation. Look at the Tesla burnings, the building defacing, the damage to ice vehicles. I get it you want us to ignore that, but we don’t and won’t. They hate America and they hate me, so I think Trump should keep it moving and faster. Do what we voted for him to do, ignore the cult members that only read the headlines.
What happened to the 3,500 people at the La Habra protest headline? I drove past and there were maybe 100 people there.
Ed Response: You must have driven by just before the 10am start. By 10am there were over 300 people – but as the time went on – more joined in. Organizers said over 500 officially RSVPed for the event but a count around 11am showed 3500 present with people lined up and down both sides of Imperial and Beach and crowded at each of the corners of the intersection.
You’re dreaming, Ed. There were never 3,500 people at that intersection. You can easily see that in the pictures. I passed there three different times and there was not anywhere close to that.
Ed Response: I kind of agree with you. I guessed there were about a thousand – though I am not a great crowd estimator. But according to organizers who actually counted there were 3,500. And of course anyone driving by would have noticed that people weren’t just gathered at the four intersection corners but also spread way up and down the streets on all sides. If the estimate changes we will update with that info.
Except that the examples you cite were single incidents perpetrated by a couple people. By contrast, yesterday we had millions of people protesting peacefully without incident. You may not be aware but there are also smaller weekly protests ongoing around the entire country, also without incident. There is also a 24/7 peaceful protest outside the ICE detention building in DTLA, and it’s ICE and LAPD that’s brutalized the protesters, not the other way around. But you don’t hear about that on Fox “News” (read: Entertainment, not News).
MAGA agitators present at protests even tried to incite violence but were unable because protesters were steadfastly committed to peaceful demonstration.
I’m not sure why you judge millions of peaceful protestors by the errant actions of a small handful, yet you don’t apply the same logic to the Trump administration and its followers, who actively ransacked the Capitol Building, intending to kill Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence (they constructed a gallows outside), whose ICE thugs brutalize non-violent, non-criminal people and rip parents from their children, ambush people at their court-ordered immigration hearings, and even murder Venezuelans in fishing boats in Venezuelan waters with zero hard evidence that they were actually carrying or attemtping to smuggle illicit drugs. His policies restrict vaccines that save millions of lives, ease restrictions on oversight of PFAS and environmental dumping, and strip people of their healthcare – all actions that will literally kill Americans, after subjecting them to excruciating diseases like mumps and cancer.
But yeah, a couple people set fire to a Waymo a few months ago, so it all evens out.
Apparently you didn’t watch the protests after the sun went down, that’s when the violence happens. During the day it was mostly old white people at the protests, but there were still assaults and violence. Trying to relive their hippy glory days of 50+ years ago. Like 1% of the population showed up to protests yesterday. The majority of Americans don’t care about your cause. Close to 80% of Americans support deporting criminal illegal aliens. Not to mention the popularity of the Democrat Party has tanked.
Ed Response: A bit of disinformation there shows you may be tuning into some unreliable news sources.
1) No violence happened at No Kings before or after sundown.
2) Anyone who attended a No Kings event or watched one online knows all ages and backgrounds were present.
3) People without documents are not criminals – Entering the country without documents or overstaying visas, etc. are civil violations not criminal.
About 3% of the US population are undocumented immigrants – they are being used as scapegoats for what is wrong with our country. Ask yourself why ICE is targeting workplaces, schools, churches, hospitals, courts where immigrants are checking in as required etc. and arresting even those who have documents.

“Apparently you didn’t watch the protests after the sun went down, that’s when the violence happens. ”
I don’t believe you, anonymous person, you’re going to have to prove that with statistics, arrests, indictments convictions. Because I think you’re just lying or spreading things you have heard online. There is no violent resistance or insurrection against this administration even to compare with the bumbling weak J6 insurrection. Which Trump wasn’t concerned about since he pardoned all of those criminals.
Except that didn’t happen and a handful of knuckleheads vandalizing something in a past protest is not a reason for anything you’re saying.
Law enforcement isn’t perfect anywhere ever There’s always crime and thee always will ve. But these protests are 100% genuine against an unamerican regime, and you’re clearly willing to believe any lie those who own your vote put in front of you.
The hate is clearly coming from you, as you are willing to instantly paint half of the country with the idiotic brush of “America hater”.
