The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is set to host a public meeting in Fullerton on January 22, 2026, to discuss its proposed plan for cleaning up contaminated groundwater at the Orange County North Basin Superfund site. This meeting provides an opportunity for community members to learn about the cleanup efforts and share their thoughts directly with EPA officials.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Fullerton Community Center, located at 340 W. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton, CA 92832. Attendees will have the chance to provide oral comments regarding the proposed plan, making their voices heard in the decision-making process.
For those unable to attend the Fullerton meeting, the EPA will hold additional public meetings in Buena Park and Anaheim on January 21 and January 29, 2026, respectively. All meetings will feature the same presentation to ensure consistent information sharing across locations.
In addition, a recorded presentation will be made available online for community members who wish to access it remotely. The EPA is also accepting written comments on the proposed cleanup plan, which must be submitted by February 19, 2026.
Community engagement is crucial as the EPA seeks to address groundwater contamination and safeguard public health. Residents are encouraged to join the conversation and play an active role in shaping the future of their community’s environmental landscape.
