Presented by ALPHA – an Auxiliary to the Assistance League of Fullerton
The Assistance League Professional Humanitarian Auxiliary, known as ALPHA, is gearing up for its 33rd annual “A Day of Authors” event. Scheduled for Saturday, March 28, the event will take place at California State University, Fullerton, in the Titan Student Union, starting at 8:15 am with a continental breakfast.

The program begins at 9:00 am with introductions and a keynote speaker, Lisa Unger, bestselling thriller author of Served Him Right. Her debut novel, Beautiful Lies, earned her a place on the New York Times’ Bestsellers List in 2006.
The afternoon keynote speaker is the multi-genre novelist, TV and film scriptwriter, Daniel Kraus. Kraus’s latest novel, Angel Down, in the historical fiction and thriller category, was selected as one of the ten 2025 Best Books of the Year by the New York Times. A film based on his earlier, highly acclaimed novel, Whale Fall, will be released in October of 2026.
Between our two keynote speakers, guests will be treated to two of their selected authors’ presentations as well as a delicious lunch. Julie Clark, bestselling author of The Ghostwriter, features strong female characters in her suspenseful thrillers.

Well-known author Chris Epting will feature his latest travel book, Theodore Roosevelt in California: The Presidential Pilgrimage That Saved the Wilderness. This latest treasure tells the tale of President Roosevelt’s camping trip, which he shared with naturalist John Muir throughout California.

Six Days in Bombay is the latest historical fiction novel by Alka Joshi. Known for weaving threads of mystery throughout her books, Joshi takes readers on a cultural expedition through 1930s India and Europe.

Contemporary fiction writer, Kaira Rouda, explores friendships and sorority in her latest novel, We Were Never Friends, where former sorority sisters suddenly have a future together that is plagued by their past.

Our young adult/youth bestselling novelist, Holly Goldberg Sloan, shares her latest achievement, Finding Lost, based on a true story of a lost-at-sea crab fisherman in Oregon. Written for middle-schoolers, she brings characters to life who demonstrate that people can survive loss and grief despite the tragedy they have experienced, offering hope to survivors.
Book signings, raffle baskets, and opportunity drawings for two $500 prizes will occur throughout the day. This popular, 400-guest event raises funds to assist the surrounding Fullerton Community, including St. Jude Neighborhood Healthy Beginnings Program, McKinney-Vento Toiletry and Birthday Book Program, Operation School Bell, Santa’s Closet, Tara’s Chance Equine Therapy Scholarships, Fullerton Police Explorers, as well as Post-Secondary Scholarships and Grants.
