Small Business Administration Announces Grant Program to Support Small Manufacturers

The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced a new Manufacturing in America Empower to Grow (E2G) grant initiative that will provide up to $50 million in competitive grant funding to as many as 10 organizations that offer training and technical assistance to small manufacturers nationwide.

According to the SBA, the initiative is intended to support American manufacturing businesses by helping small manufacturers access workforce development resources, technical expertise and operational assistance.

The program is focused on strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity and supporting small businesses involved in producing American-made goods. SBA officials said manufacturing remains an important part of the national economy and supply chain infrastructure.

The announcement also highlighted several federal tax and business policies intended to support manufacturing investment, including provisions allowing businesses to expense costs related to factories, equipment, improvements and research and development activities. The administration also noted that the cap for expensing business equipment increased from $1.25 million to $2.5 million.

SBA officials said many small manufacturers face challenges related to capital access, workforce development and expansion opportunities. The new grant initiative is designed to support organizations that can provide direct, practical assistance to manufacturers seeking to grow their operations.

In addition to the grant program, the SBA recently announced a 90% Made in America loan guarantee for small manufacturers and waived loan fees for manufacturing NAICS codes during Fiscal Year 2026. Agency officials said the measures are intended to reduce borrowing costs and increase access to financing for domestic manufacturers.

According to the SBA, the average small manufacturer generates approximately $5.4 million in annual revenue, and the agency assists more than 50,000 small manufacturers each year through its business programs and lending support.

The SBA said the application deadline for the Manufacturing in America Empower to Grow grant initiative is June 15, 2026, at 11:59 pm EDT.
