The County of Orange (County) will host a virtual media webinar to announce and discuss the results of the 2026 Point In Time (PIT) Count, the countywide count and survey of people experiencing homelessness. Members of the media will have the opportunity to hear directly from County leadership about the latest data and ongoing efforts to address homelessness across Orange County.

The 2026 PIT Count provides information on household composition, subpopulation information, and disabling conditions such as substance use disorder, serious mental illness, and physical disability.  This information provides the County and organizations working to address homelessness in Orange County with a deeper understanding of the needs and challenges of people experiencing homelessness.

The sheltered count took place on the night of Monday, January 26, 2026, and the unsheltered count started the morning of Tuesday, January 27, 2026, through Thursday, January 29, 2026, with each Service Planning Area canvassed each day. More than 90 emergency shelters and transitional housing programs collected participant‑level data on people staying within each program. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires all Continuum of Care jurisdictions nationwide to conduct a biennial unsheltered count and an annual sheltered count during the last ten days of January.
