The City of Fullerton has officially announced a General Municipal Election scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Voters will have the opportunity to elect two members to the City Council representing Districts 3 and 5, each serving full four-year terms.
The nomination period for these critical positions opens on July 13, 2026, and will close on August 7, 2026, at 5:00 pm. However, if no incumbent files nomination papers by the deadline, the nomination period may be extended to August 12, 2026, at 5:30 pm. This extension will not apply when there are no eligible incumbents for election.
In cases where no candidates or only one candidate is nominated for an office, the City Council retains the authority to appoint someone to the position, in accordance with California Elections Code Section 10229.
All aspects of the election, including vote center locations and hours of operation, ballot drop box details, and vote-by-mail procedures, will follow the guidelines established by the County of Orange and adhere to the California Elections Code.
On Election Day, all vote centers will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, providing ample opportunity for residents to cast their votes.
