Maybe this is the year investigate your ancestry, write a book or join a book group, learn a new language or how to play a musical instrument, play poker or mahjong, improve your computer skills, or join in a fun exercise program. You can even audit a CSUF class, free of charge (with instructor permission). With more than 300 classes and activities offered annually, OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Program) at Cal State Fullerton has you covered.
Interested? Mark your calendars for OLLI’s free Open House to explore more of what OLLI offers for the 2206-27 academic year. The Open House will be held Saturday, August 8, starting at 9 am and running until noon. This event will be held at the Ruby Gerontology Center, located on the Cal State Fullerton campus. Attendees can meet with class instructors, find information on parking, class formats (some are in-person, Zoom or hybrid) and explore a host of other OLLI benefits. There’s even a free lunch. Stay for all or part of the program.
What’s more, OLLI members not only learn new skills (or improve existing ones) but develop friendships, expand their social circles, and become part of the university community. Join a community of 50+ lifelong learners who gather to learn, connect and thrive—together.
“OLLI has been great,” said Larry Holmes, a new OLLI board member this year. “It’s been an opportunity to learn more about the challenges that face retirees and other seniors. OLLI provides a chance to meet new people, make new friends and have a fun time. Staying engaged and taking the opportunity to learn and explore new interests is what OLLI is all about.”
