As California voters prepare for the November 3 election, a record 14 statewide propositions are creating confusion for many. To help navigate this complex ballot, Fullerton College Political Science Professor Jodi Balma will host a free presentation titled “Propositions 101: Ballot Measures” on Monday, October 26, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in Room 224.
During the session, Balma will provide a detailed overview of each proposition, clarifying what a “yes” or “no” vote entails. She will also discuss the various groups advocating for and against the measures, along with insights into campaign financing.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their ballots for a practical, hands-on experience while taking notes. This event is part of the Fullerton College Political Science Department’s 2026 Election Events series, designed to empower students and community members with the knowledge they need before voting.
Election Day, set for Tuesday, November 3, will allow voters to cast their ballots in person at any Vote Center, with same-day registration available. Additionally, Orange County residents can drop off their ballots at the official ballot dropbox located on the Fullerton College campus. Voters from other counties are advised to locate drop boxes within their jurisdictions.
For those looking to develop a voting plan, further information is available on the California Secretary of State’s website at sos.ca.gov.
