Fullerton Hills Softball Heads for Regionals

Fullerton Hills Softball has an incredible 8U Gold All-Stars team this summer. In each of seven tournaments they have made it to the championship game, bringing wins in tournaments hosted by Fullerton Hills, Laguna Niguel and the B District Championship.

Since winning Districts, the team will receive a much sought after prize, a banner which will be displayed at Lions Field during the spring season for years to come.

Last weekend the girls played their hearts out at the 2019 Southern California B State Tournament hosted by USA Softball in Lancaster, winning their first 3 games (to qualify for Regionals!) and then losing the forth.

To get to the championship game meant that the next day they would need to win 3 consecutive games in the losers bracket. And they did!

With each girl contributing their bat, their steals, their defense, and their cheers, they went on to meet their season rivals, Corona, at the championships.

After a tough battle, the score was tied 1-1. Umpire calls were challenged, game rules heatedly discussed, and tears wiped from the eyes of a few injured players. Final score was 1-2, and Fullerton Hills BU Gold took second at States!

Proud families comforted and cheered the girls as medals were passed out and the amazing coaches reminded them of how extremely proud everyone was of them.

The journey continues next weekend at the 2019 Regionals in San Diego hosted by USA Softball. Follow the team on Blast Athletics and support our city’s team, Fullerton Hills 8U Gold Allstars!
