Friends of Music present Thalea String Quartet

Fullerton Friends of Music will present a free concert on Sunday February 2 at 3:30pm at Wilshire Auditorium (corner of Wilshire and Lemon in Fullerton.) featuring the Thalea String Quartet with Michelle Cann on piano.

The quartet has appeared at the Kennedy Center, Massey Hall and Weill Hall and were the first in-residence quartet at SF Conservancy of Music. The concert will include African American classical composer Florence Price’s “Three Folksongs in Counterpoint” and her “Concerto in One Movement.” The concert will also include works by Haydn, Tucker, Piazolla and Copland.

Formed in 2014 at the Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival in Courmayeur, Italy, the Thalea String Quartet has been praised for their “vibrant performance” and “sincere expressivity.
