Iran launches over 200 drones and missiles into Israel
In retaliation for the April 1st Israeli attack on the consulate adjacent to the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria, that reportedly killed 7 to 16 people, including top Iranian commanders – Iran launched over 200 drones and missiles at military bases in northern Israel. Iranian officials stated that the attack “settles the score” unless Israel makes another mistake and warned the US to stay out of it.
One Bedouin girl was seriously wounded by shrapnel, causing minor damage to an Israeli army base.
Israeli officials said most of the drones and missiles were intercepted before reaching Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US President Joe Biden early Sunday morning about the Iranian drone and missile attack against Israel overnight. Biden said he reaffirmed “America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel” in his conversation with Netanyahu, adding that “Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks – sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel.”

Protests erupt across Israel, demanding political change.
Weekly protests demanding the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip erupted across Israel on Saturday evening, as reported by Israeli media. Alongside the call for hostage release, protesters voiced grievances against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration and demanded new elections. The protests, which were not confined to Tel Aviv, spread across multiple cities, indicating widespread solidarity with the cause and dissatisfaction with the current political landscape. From Jerusalem to Be’er Sheva, voices clamored for change, underscoring the urgency of addressing both the humanitarian crisis and the political deadlock.
