Fullerton Community Invited to 60th Anniversary of Troy High

Celebrations

by Edyn, 12th grade

Troy High School is marking 60 years of innovation, inviting current and former students, parents and staff to celebrate at the 60th Anniversary Celebration on February 22. The fundraiser will highlight what it means to be a Warrior, featuring food trucks, student-led tours, showcases of student work, performances and a live broadcast of the event.
Guests can explore programs that interest them, while students will demonstrate their current work and plans. Alumni can reconnect with their past programs, share memories with current students and reinforce the tight-knit nature of the Troy community.

While Troy has many award-winning programs, training and travel costs can be significant. “There is a price tag that people don’t always realize,” said Lance Bletscher, vice principal and co-planner of the event. Nonetheless, the main goal is to “showcase the excellence of Troy High School for the past 60 years.”

The Troy Support Organization has played a vital role in planning and promoting the event, using emails, social media, and other methods to reach as many people as possible. This celebration aims to blend elements of past anniversaries and highlight the community.

Bletscher noted the unique bond among Troy’s alumni, stating, “Nobody talks about their high school the way alumni do about Troy.” With generations of students and staff closely connected, the event seeks to build an alumni database and foster a strong network, emphasizing that “it means something to be a Troy graduate.”

All students — past, present, and future — are encouraged to cultivate lasting friendships and exhibit excellence. Bletscher and the TSO invite all Troy High School alumni to join in the celebration.
