Henri Vasquez, age 13 raised over $3,000 in donations from November to March for District 56 Challenger Little League. Challenger Little League is a separate little league program for Special Needs kids making it possible for the kids to play baseball from Fullerton, Brea, La Habra, Whittier and La Mirada.
Henri visited different organizations from his church to other groups in Fullerton and surrounding areas of Brea and Anaheim and delivered a presentation to each group spreading awareness about the Challenger Little League program and soliciting donations. He also started a trash can cleaning business to help raise funds so that none of the parents of the kids have to worry about paying for registration fees and any equipment they needed.
He volunteers every Sunday Morning at Portola Park in La Habra as a Gold Hill Big Buddy helping the kids warm up, coaching them, pitching to them, playing catch and making sure they are all safe on the field. This allows parents to sit back and watch their kids play.
Henri is an 7th grade student at Parks Jr. High and plays for Golden Hill Little League Junior Division.
District 56 Challenger League plays every Sunday at Portola Park 301 S. Euclid St. La Habra at 11am there are two fields at Portola Park the lower field is for the Younger kids and the upper field is for the older kids. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch the kids play and have fun.
