Rep. Lou Correa to Award $250,000 for Fire Station Upgrades in Fullerton

U.S. Representative Lou Correa (D-CA) will present a significant check to the City of Fullerton on Monday, April 13, earmarked for crucial upgrades to the city’s fire stations. The funding, totaling $250,000, is aimed at modernizing the alerting systems, replacing outdated roll-up doors with safer lateral opening models, and upgrading existing steel hose towers to more modern mechanical versions across all fire stations in the area.

The upgrades are expected to enhance the Fullerton Fire Department’s response capabilities and times, reduce maintenance costs, and create safer operational environments, ultimately improving community safety. This investment is part of the broader FY2026 community project funding secured by Rep. Correa for California’s 46th Congressional District, which amounts to over $13.3 million in total federal funding.

“Ensuring our fire stations have the necessary resources to effectively serve our communities is a top priority,” Rep. Correa stated. “This funding will allow our local firefighters to operate more efficiently and safely.”

The presentation will take place at Fire Station 1, located at 312 E Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton, CA, at 10:30 am on Monday, April 13.

In attendance will be notable local leaders, including Supervisor Doug Chaffee, Mayor Fred Jung, and Councilmember Dr. Ahmad Zahra.
