Wed, April 22: OC Climate Coalition Earth Month Zoom Meeting

In celebration of Earth Month, the Orange County Climate Coalition will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 22, at 6:00 pm. The meeting promises to spotlight several pressing environmental issues, aligning perfectly with the spirit of Earth Day.

Attendees can expect a comprehensive agenda, including a discussion on the California Air Resources Board’s (CAC) 2026 State Legislative Package. This year, energy affordability has emerged as a crucial concern in Sacramento, prompting CAC to advocate for a new bill package to promote affordable energy solutions. Coalition members will have the opportunity to learn about 14 significant bills currently supported in the state legislature and explore ways to mobilize in favor of their passage.

Another focal point of the meeting will be the efforts of the Sunrise Movement OC, which will address their ongoing Anti-ICE actions. As environmental crises disproportionately affect marginalized communities, representatives from Sunrise OC will discuss their initiatives to safeguard local communities from the harmful impacts of ICE practices. The dialogue will emphasize the importance of intersectionality in environmental activism, particularly the need to protect communities of color in Orange County from government persecution.

Participants are encouraged to join via the provided Zoom link, as the coalition emphasizes the importance of collective action in tackling both environmental and social justice issues. Here is the Zoom Link and Agenda for our meeting next week.
