A tragic traffic incident occurred on Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 3:27 pm, when police responded to a report of a motorcyclist down at the intersection of W. Orangethorpe Ave. and S. Gilbert St.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male rider seated on a brown Honda Navi motorcycle at the intersection. A silver Tesla Cybertruck involved in the collision was located nearby.
Emergency responders from the Fullerton Fire Department transported the injured rider to a local hospital; however, he was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound in the #2 lane of W. Orangethorpe Ave. when the Tesla Cybertruck, moving westbound, attempted a southbound turn onto S. Gilbert St. The motorcyclist collided with the side of the Cybertruck.
Authorities have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The identity of the driver involved is pending release by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
