An investigation is underway following the tragic death of an 18-year-old California State University, Fullerton student, identified as Anthony Joseph Blas. The young man was pronounced dead shortly after being dropped off at St. Jude Medical Center around 12:07 a.m. on September 13, 2026.
Fullerton Police Officers responded to the emergency department after receiving reports of an unresponsive male. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Blas was declared deceased at the hospital.
Detectives from the Fullerton Police Department quickly arrived at the scene to commence an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Blas’s death. Preliminary information suggests the incident took place near Associated Road and Milton Avenue, where Blas had reportedly attended a function at an unaffiliated fraternity.
Initial findings indicate that alcohol consumption may have played a role in his passing. However, the official cause and manner of death are pending a determination by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
At this stage, authorities do not consider hazing to be a contributing factor, nor is there any indication of foul play. The investigation remains active.
