Free Teacher & School Leader Resources from Sandy Hook Promise

The mission of Sandy Hook Promise is to create a culture engaged in preventing shootings, violence, and other harmful acts in schools. Currently, Sandy Hook Promise offers two no-cost, self-led Know The Signs programs that teach youth and adults how to recognize the signs, intervene and get help for individuals who may be at-risk of hurting themselves or others. The two programs are:

  • Start With Hello – This program teaches youth how to be more inclusive and connected to one another. SWH works to create connectedness and community, by minimizing social isolation, marginalization, and rejection, and out to see someone alone, reach out, and start with hello.
  • Say Something – This program teaches youth how to recognize signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and Say Something to a trusted adult or report it through our Anonymous Reporting System BEFORE it is too late.
  • We also have digital trainings available for schools for both of the above programs, register online to learn more.

Please follow the links above to sign up and get the free resources available. School leaders have successfully self-led these programs across the country, seeing a positive impact on their school culture and climate. Our programs, when paired with a SAVE Promise Club on campus, are incredibly successful because of student leaders who are engaged and empowered to sustain the life-saving messages and build a long-term culture around looking out for one another. All registered SAVE clubs have access to SAVE tools and monthly actions, virtual support from a regional Account Manager, and will receive invitations to attend webinars and to join us at our annual SAVE student summit.
