City of Fullerton Addresses Water Bill Increases Amid System Transition

Residents of Fullerton may have noticed an increase in their latest water bills, with some statements covering a longer billing period of over 70 days. This change stems from a transition to a new city billing system, which led to delays in billing during the summer months. As a result, those previously missed days are now reflected in the current charges.

City officials assure residents that operations will return to normal shortly. “After this bill, we plan to revert to our standard schedule, which means bi-monthly customers will receive bills every 60 days and monthly customers will be billed every 30 days,” a spokesperson clarified.

In recognition of these higher charges, the city is taking steps to mitigate the financial impact on residents. Among the initiatives: an extra 15,000 gallons have been added to each billing tier, effectively lowering the rate for water usage. Additionally, no late fees will be implemented on bills due from May 27, 2024, to February 28, 2025. For those struggling to manage the increased expenses, payment plans are available by calling the utility service department at (714) 738-6890.

Residents can pay their utility bills through a variety of methods. Online payments and registration for a new online portal can be made at cityoffullerton.com/utilitybill. For those who prefer phone payments, they can call (877) 768-8795, provided they have their Customer ID and Account Number handy.

The city encourages residents to reach out with any questions or concerns through the city’s website or by calling (714) 738-6890. “We appreciate your patience as we enhance our billing system and apologize for any inconvenience this transition may have caused,” officials added.
