Balance & Change: The Joy of Adventure: Embracing Life’s Small and Big Experiences

Adventures are some of my favorite things! Not all adventures have to be large and expensive.

Yes, those are fun. I love adventures where I get to explore a part of the world I have never been to before, try new food, meet new people, and learn about new cultures. However, I also love small adventures.

Simply driving down a street I have not gone on before. Trying a new coffeehouse. Trying a new dish in a restaurant that I often go to. Watching a new tv show. Reading a novel by an author I have never read.

Making connections with new people can also be a lovely new adventure. Talk to that person who is not talking to anyone else.
Listen to someone whom you have never listened to. Go to a gathering of a new group.

Sometimes that new adventure may be trying new self-care practices, like meditation or a new type of exercise.

As we do new adventures, large and small, we grow and become better and healthier. We are better able to cope with change.
We build resilience. We also build up our supply of joy. This is something very important in this world today!
