Saving Shakespeare: The Curtis Theatre and Begins and Ends With ‘A’ Productions Present The Book of Will

The Curtis Theatre, in partnership with Begins and Ends With ‘A’ Productions, is proud to announce the upcoming production of Lauren Gunderson’s critically acclaimed, award-winning play The Book of Will, running from June 12 through June 21, 2026.

Set three years after the death of William Shakespeare, The Book of Will tells the witty, funny, and deeply moving true story of the Bard’s closest friends and fellow actors as they fight to gather his scattered plays and publish the First Folio. Faced with rogue bootleggers, faulty memories, and a race against time, this band of artists bands together to save the greatest words ever written from being lost to history forever.

Directed by Amanda Hallman, this production is a joyous love letter to friendship, legacy, and the magic of live theatre. “This show captures the profound heartbeat behind Shakespeare’s work,” says Hallman. “It’s not a dry history lesson; it’s a fast-paced, emotional, and surprisingly funny journey about ordinary people doing something extraordinary to save the words that shape our world.”
