The Fullerton City Council District 5 incumbent did not file for re-election in the November 2026 General Municipal Election, which extends the filing period to allow other qualified candidates to file.

Individuals interested in running for the Fullerton City Council District 5 office now have more time to file a declaration of candidacy with the City Clerk because the eligible incumbent did not file.

New qualified candidates for the office can file during the extension period, which closes on Wednesday, August 12th at 5:30 p.m.

Incumbents are no longer eligible for placement on the ballot for that office in the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election because they failed to file nomination papers for the office by the original August 7th deadline.
